How to join Perth City Swim Club

Assessments for young swimmers age 6-9 (by 31st December) are usually held twice a year. Dates and times will be advertised on the Club notice board at Perth Leisure Pool and in the local press. Anyone wishing further information can come along to the pool any Friday night between 18.30 and 19.30, when a member of the committee will usually be available to give advice. There is no Friday club over the summer school holiday period.
If you are thinking of trying out, please read the following further advice

  • There are no learners within the club, although you do not have to finish the lesson programme before trying out. If you can manage at least one length of front and back crawl plus breaststroke, and can make a good attempt at butterfly, please come along.
  • If you are older than 6-9 but have been training with another club and would like to move to Perth City, come along and try out!
  • Places are limited in the club and no-one can guarantee you will be successful this time round, but don’t let that put you off. It may be that you need to continue with your lessons for a little while longer before you are ready. All swimmers are given feedback after the trials
  • Remember! Perth City is a competitive club and you will be expected to follow your Coach’s advice about competitions you should enter as you progress through the Club.

Fees

There is an annual fee payable to the club when membership is renewed in the spring. This includes the Club membership and Scottish Amateur Swimming Association Fees; the fee to SASA Midland District; and insurance premium. This fee is set each year at the club AGM. In 2010 this was £37.50.
